We proudly present the new ROMEO app for iOS and Android. With the new version, we are not only laying a new technical foundation, but also making ROMEO easier and more fun to use. Here we want to give you an overview of the improvements.
We offer many features — and that’s exactly what many users like about it. On the other hand, this can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming, especially for new users. Our solution: One menu per screen.
You’ll see a round button at the bottom of the screen — easy to reach with your thumb. Tap it, and a menu opens. From there, you have quick access to all relevant features for the screen you are currently using.
The new app is designed for one-hand use. As we know, you may need the other hand for something else 🙂
We merged Travel and Radar into one browsing experience. Since both features belong closely together, it is now much easier to explore profiles around you or discover Romeos in any city you want to visit.
Additionally, this frees up space in the bottom navigation — something we will need for future features 🙂
Uploading multiple photos, organizing them, moving them between albums, and creating albums all feel much more intuitive now.
We also added clearer picture rating information, so it’s easier to understand how image visibility works.
Saving, removing, and organizing contacts now takes fewer clicks. Tags are also much easier to manage.
Besides the interface improvements, a major step is the move to React Native. Both apps now share the same codebase, allowing us to roll out new features and improvements much faster.
As a next step, we will also update our website to this new technology, bringing the same improvements to the web experience.
And yes — there’s more to come later this year. Stay tuned.
